WRR’s Naturally Classical Concert at the Heard Museum of Nature and Science in McKinney
Sunday, October 1st
2 – 4 pm
Discover why nature has been a muse for composers for centuries, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary! Join WRR for the inaugural “Naturally Classical” concert, featuring the Texas Chamber Music Project in an outdoor performance of nature-inspired works including Mendelssoh’s Hebrides Overture, Butterworth’s The Banks of Green Willow, popular film music as well as works by Beethoven, Schubert, Bizet and much more.
Our friends from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will be there with their instrument petting zoo, giving kids (and grownups!) a chance to see, hear, and play different instruments that make an orchestra. It all begins at 1:00 with a butterfly talk to learn all about the amazing Monarch butterfly.
Pack a picnic and bring a blanket, but please, NO glass beverages.
