The Memorial Organ is one of the largest in the southwest United States, with over 7,150 pipes. It is an outstanding example of the magnificent grandeur, mechanical creativity, and acoustical capabilities that are the unique signatures of a church and concert pipe organ. The concert will feature the talents of local concert organist Chris S. Brunt. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Brunt holds degrees from Millsaps College and Westminster Choir College. He has studied at the Royal School of Church Music in London, and has done post-graduate work at the University of Mississippi. He presently serves as a volunteer in the music program at FUMC-Allen, is accompanist for The Allen Symphony Chorus, and performs as an active free-lance musician and organ recitalist in the DFW area. 2017 is Chris’ 43rd year as a church organist.
