Denton Bach Players present Nouvelle Poesies: French Chamber Music at the Turn of the 18th Century

Initiated by a lecture-recital performance with UNT Associate Head Music Librarian Dr. Mark McKnight about an 18th-c. music manuscript for Ursuline nuns at the upcoming joint conference of the American Musicological, Ethnomusicology, and Music Theory societies in New Orleans, the Denton Bach Players embark on a short tour of north Texas and Louisiana. Repertoire includes compositions from the aforementioned manuscript, as well as pieces by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault, François Couperin, Louis-Gabriel Guillemain, Jean-Baptiste Lully, Marin Marais, Jacques Morel, and more. Featuring Jennifer Carpenter (recorder), Andrew Justice (viola), Heidi Dietrich Klein (soprano), Lenora McCroskey (harpsichord), Eric Smith (viola da gamba), and Janelle West (flute).
