New Glass Works by Latonya Gunter & It's Time: new works by Florence Criss at the South Dallas Cultural Center

Glass is a very difficult medium to create with but emerging artist Latonya Gunter takes on the challenge with great ease. Her fused glassworks are truly paintings in glass, with a diversity of imagery from portraits to abstracts. Artist Florence Criss considers herself a "late-bloomer" because it took her a number of years to have her first one-woman exhibition. But when she decided it was time to "bloom", she did so with a vengeance, bringing to the Arthello Beck Gallery audience a sophisticated body of work that explored some very poignant and weighty topics.
