Colbert has been a drawing teacher in the Brookhaven College School of the Arts since 2009. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and two Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in drawing and painting, and art history from the University of North Texas.
