Daniela Comani was born in Bologna, Italy; she lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Comani’s multimedia installations engage in a dialog about history, language, identity, alienation and intimacy. Her work focuses on media images and text, which she manipulates through photography and video, and combines in her drawings and installations. Bogdan Perzyński is a contemporary artist whose work focuses on the question of art's interdisciplinary character; this includes the philosophies of communicative action, social pragmatism, and individual invention. He has worked with installation art since 1978, and in 1990, began working with sound, video, sensors and body-based interactivity. Over the last 30 years, he has produced paintings, drawings, photography, and installation, sound and video projection works that often include architectural settings. Melissa Turner Drumm was born 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Drumm has recently begun to venture in a new direction, sculpture. In her newest works she is painting and torching nickel and copper panels to evoke her connection to the obsolescence of the printing press. Drumm focuses on the cultural and historic revolution brought about by the invention in the 15th century of the printing process. Through dimension and materials, she pays homage to a bygone process that brought literacy to all social backgrounds and was part of the foundations of modernity.
