Jampact is a quintet of Dallas musicians based at Southern Methodist University. Jose Bowen (Dean of the Meadows School) on piano, Akira Sato on trumpet, Kim Corbet on trombone and synths, Buddy Mohmed on bass and Jamal Mohamed on drums/percussion make up this improvisional ensemble, fearless and unbridled by tradition. Their experience has led them around the world stylistically and it shows in their excursions, which may seem to be headed into the predictable and suddenly shift in another direction organically, clearly yet always surprisingly.
