Schola closes our fiftieth season with a look back and a look forward. Continuing with our reflection on music from past seasons, Schola will sing Faure’s touching and serene Requiem, as orchestrated by John Rutter for chorus and chamber orchestra. Because Schola has a long history of thrilling performances of new and interesting choral music, it is appropriate that we finish our Golden Jubilee Season with a look to the future in our performance of Tarik O’Regan’s Triptych for chorus and strings. O’Regan’s three-movement work is a captivating musical setting of texts drawn from the Bible, as well as works of Muhammad Al-Bayoumi, William Blake, Thomas Hardy, John Milton, William Penn, and William Wordsworth.
