The exhibition A Retrospective: 1980- 2010 broadcasts an intimate reflection of Cope’s work over the past 20 years. The exhibition has already been shown at the Irish American Heritage Centre in Chicago, Illinois. The tour was launched at the National Arts Club of America in New York in March 2011. Elizabeth Cope’s work which is reminiscent of that of Matisse has been labeled as ‘seriously powerful’ and ‘full of energetic movement’. For Elizabeth painting is a way of life.
