This collection shows the relationship between a woman and her child through candid imagery. The photographs tell stories of wisdom and standing tall in the face of adversity. Sakin Jael says, "I want to connect the viewer with the unspoken truths of being a single mother by showing them as victors. She has chosen the medium of black and white photography to explore different values and essences that speak to a clarity of line and simple composition. As a single mother herself, she recognizes how photography is a healing experience because it allows her to share a vision beyond a thought, and to bridge a gap between the beautiful struggle and the will to keep going. The exhibition will also include written and audio narratives by her photographed single mothers. For information: 214-946-2255 or
