However, key executives stepped in and turned the process around, transforming Bain and Company into one of the most successful consulting firms in the world. With 48 offices worldwide and millions in revenue, every business has something to learn from the successful re-structuring of Bain Capital into Bain and Company. Appointed Chairman of Bain and Co. in 1993 amidst the company’s financial crisis, Orit Gadiesh played a significant role in progressing Bain and Co.’s mission and re-instating its dominance within the global market. After serving in the Israeli military, Orit attended Harvard Business School for her MBA and graduated with high honors as a Baker scholar as well as winning the Brown Prize for most outstanding student in her class. She was able to break-through a male-dominated career path, despite being chastised numerous times by clients because of her gender, and is regarded as an expert on management and corporate strategy. Orit still holds her title as Chairman and but is also involved in a plethora of organizations and committees such as serving on the Publications Review Board of the Harvard Business School Press and contributes to a number of leading management and business journals, such as the Harvard Business Review and The Wall Street Journal.
