This recital will feature Luke Miller on piano and Macedonio Mucino on trumpet. Luke Miller is a junior piano performance concentration at Texas Wesleyan University. Prior to Wesleyan, he attended St. Peters Classical School in Fort Worth. At Wesleyan, Luke studies piano with Dr. Ilka Araķjo and also participates in the University Wind Ensemble. He sings in the Wesleyan Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Jerry Bierschenk. In 2010, Luke was nominated to play in the Presidentís Honors Concert. In the spring of 2012, he travelled as a member of the Texas Wesleyan Chamber Singers to Guiyang, China. Max is a college junior majoring in trumpet performance at Texas Wesleyan University. After graduating from high school in 2010, Max attended Weatherford Junior College where he graduated with an associateís of arts degree. He played lead trumpet in the college jazz band and earned the lead trumpet chair in the community college All-State band. During his attendance at Weatherford College, Max studied trumpet with professional Las Vegas trumpet player Ron Puckett. Currently, Max is studying under Dr. Jerome Bierschenk at Texas Wesleyan University. He plays trumpet in the professional mariachi band, Mariachi Mexico, in Dallas/Oak Cliff. Max has also marched three years with the Knights Drum & Bugle Corp from Denver, Colorado, been a marching tech for Weatherford High School, taught trumpet lessons at Bridgeport High School, and is director of the Youth Praise and Worship Band at his local church. Max was one of three students in the Fall 2013 semester chosen to receive a scholarship for the SAI American Music auditions. Max plans to continue his education by attending graduate school to pursue a masterís degree in trumpet performance with a minor in composition and arranging.
