Although predominantly comprised of students who are music majors, membership in the ensemble is open to any woman who is a student at Wesleyan . The group exclusively sings music which has been written or arranged for female voices from a variety of historical periods . Wesleyan Chamber Singers is the premier choral ensemble of the Texas Wesleyan Music Department. As a mixed chorus comprised of primarily music majors, its members are auditioned, and must possess music reading skills and a strong background in choral music. Chamber Singers has participated in many high-profile events, including the recent inauguration of Texas Wesleyan’s newest president. The choir is a frequent guest performer for local organizations, including the Fort Worth Women’s Club, the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority, the Fort Worth City Council, and Fort Worth Sister Cities. In the Spring of 2012, the Chamber Singers accepted an invitation to travel with Fort Worth Sister Cities to Guiyang, China, where they were guests of the Chinese government, and presented performances for local dignitaries as well as the greater Guiyang community.
