Haley-Henman presents CANS: a solo exhibition by JONATHAN STEWART
Gallery 422 at The Workroom
422 Singleton Boulevard,
Dallas, TX

Jonathan Stewart is known for his two and three dimensional screen prints. His parody of commercialism plays off packaging and marketing styles that advertisers use to bombard our senses with bright colors, warnings, buzzwords and slogans. The series Cans obviously pays homage to Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans (1962) that helped usher in the pop art movement in our country. With a twist of irony, Mr. Stewart advances the movement by engaging art viewer's in a reevaluation of silly and outlandish tactics of today's ubiquitous brand marketing. This exhibition might also provoke the question about the branding of our cultural values to the most common level of magical desires. For information: or
