Meadows alumnus Andrey Ponochevny, winner of the William Kapell International Piano Competition and bronze medalist of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, presents an evening of classical works. The program includes Nikolai Medtner’s monumental “Night Wind” Sonata, which Sergei Rachmaninoff called “the greatest piano sonata of modern times,” Scarlatti’s Six Sonatas and Prokofiev’s Sonata No.7. Ponochevny has performed as a soloist and with orchestras throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. In addition to his concert schedule, he teaches piano at the University of Dallas in Irving.
