Lorca wrote fantastic poems inspired by the popular region of Andalusia; these poems are of mythical nature and they offer striking metaphors and symbols. The poet uses the moon, colors, horses, water and fish, among other natural elements to engage the listener with sensations where love and death play the main roles. These poems flow in a landscape of repression and persecution towards the gypsies where the Spanish "guardia civil" is determined to destroy them. At times, this poetry offers dialogue between characters that reach beautiful theatrical levels. For information: 214-689-6492 or www.teatrodallas.org
