May 18, 2008 DFW International Community Alliance invites you to a Fund Raising Effort for the Cyclone Victims in Burma on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Pacific Rim Restaurant, 3309 Dallas Pkwy., Suite 401, Plano. Location, foods, and music band are donated by Thai community of Dallas and we are planning to raise $10,000 for cyclone victims in Burma. May 22, 2008 DOWNTOWNDALLAS will be hosting the first of their quarterly Membership Forums in 2008 on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Houston Room at the Sheraton Dallas, 400 N. Olive Street, Dallas. The focus of the forum is on how activity in the Arts District, from the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts to residential developments, and is shaping the future of Downtown. A panel including City Manager Mary Suhm; Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, Founder and CEO of Harwood International; Bill Lively, President and CEO of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts; and Greg Greene, Partner of Museum Tower, will speak on topics regarding the Arts District’s role in invigorating and sustaining the vibrancy of Downtown. July 7 to 11, 14 to 18, 21 to 25, and 28 to August 1, 2008 The International Museum of Cultures presents the Travis Day Camp, an anthropology camp, beginning Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11, 2008; Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18, 2008; Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, 2008; and Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1, 2008 at 7500 W. Camp Wisdom, Dallas. The Travis Day Camp is the only anthropology camp in the state and beyond. We promote greater global understanding and peace. We utilize literacy based storylines to develop our program. The TEKS requirements in social studies and language arts are exceeded in our presentations. July 29 through October 21, 2008 The Dallas County Master Gardener Association invites you to become a Dallas County Master Gardener by attending classes from Tuesday, July 29, 2008 to Tuesday, October 21, 2008 on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (except September 2) at the Dallas County Texas AgriLife Extension office, 10056 Marsh Lane, Suite B-101, Dallas. If you enjoy the world of plants and want to learn the many facets of urban horticulture in North Texas, then you should consider becoming a Dallas County Master Gardener. The 2008 School is an educational training program supporting the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. The program investment is $175.00 and includes manual and materials.
