WRR Announcer Profile: Kurt Rongey
 
Weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m., WRR listeners look to Going Home Show host Kurt Rongey to wrap up the workday the right way and provide upbeat and friendly accompaniment on the roadways.  
 
Rongey's music education began at the piano at age seven and he developed an interest in writing music shortly thereafter.  He received his bachelor of music at TCU, and went on to graduate studies in England at the Royal College of Music and Keele University. 
 
After college, he began a career in classical music at Tulsa’s KCMA.   Anxious to move back to Texas, he joined the WRR staff as an announcer in 1994.  He has served for several years as WRR’s Operations and Programming Manager.  He is an avid music listener and practitioner and a father of three.
