Nothing makes the evening more pleasant than a fine meal, a good book perhaps, and great music. Join Kevin Sutton every weeknight from 7- midnight for The Evening Concert. One listener wrote in calling Kevin a "true romantic...someone who highlights the spiritual and emotional connections that we listeners have to the music...his thoughts and comments on the composers and the conditions under which they wrote their music can bring tears to the eyes."
Kevin Sutton was born in Indiana and was educated at Ball State University, Scarritt Graduate School and The University of North Texas. In addition to his work in radio, he is recognized nationally and internationally as a soloist and conductor. He has sung with nearly every choral arts group in Dallas, and has appeared as soloist with New Trinity Baroque in Atlanta, Musikanten Montana, and with the National Symphony of El Salvador. In 1999 he founded The Helios Ensemble, a consort of musicians that performs choral music and operas as well as presents evenings of chamber vocal music.
A sought after private teacher, Mr. Sutton maintains an active studio of some 20 students, many of whom have won leading roles in local theatre productions, and upon graduation from area high schools, have gone on to study at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country. He also is a widely read music critic and writer, and is a regular contributor to Musicweb International , one of the most-visited classical music web sites in the world.
In addition to bringing you great music, he also presides over Exploring Music, and brings you all of the fine broadcast concerts from great orchestras from around the world. And, he is the voice of the Fort Worth and Richardson Symphony Orchestras, and the Van Cliburn concerts. On the second Sunday of each month, he hosts the interview show, Music of the Metroplex , where he talks with the best in local musical talent.
