WRR Announcer Profile: Christopher Hackett

From rock to Bach, the accent remains distinctly English. When Christopher Hackett came to WRR from his previous job as morning show co-host at KDMX, nothing could have been more natural for him and the station. Christopher has said, “The impact of classical music is immense. It’s refreshing to be a participant in the arts community, rather than a purveyor of pre-packaged pop. I doubt Britney Spears’ music will still be on the playlist in 300 years.”

Immediately upon his arrival, people who had listened to Christopher on other Metroplex stations for years were quick to note that he’d found the place where he belonged. Since that time, he was moved from weekend evening shifts to full-time duty as WRR’s host of The Morning Show.

Christopher was born in London, but grew up mostly in Ireland and Australia. In fact, his first radio job was in the City of Cork. He went on to study history and journalism at the University of London. He’s an avid reader and observer of culture from pop to fine arts.

Under Christopher’s leadership, The Morning Show has become the first place to go to hear about what concerts and other arts events are coming up. He also brings you the morning Road Rage Remedy at 7:20 a.m. Tune in every morning to get on the road and start your workday with some of the most pleasant company you’re likely to find - Christopher Hackett and The Morning Show.
