WRR Announcer Profile:
Adriana Bate

Adriana hosts Mid-day Music and the lunchtime Classic Cafe, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. She arrived in Dallas in the Fall of 2005 from New Orleans, courtesy of Hurricane Katrina, and has been taking a turn on the whirlwind ever since.

Adriana’s been involved professionally and personally with music for most of her life, and was fortunate enough to grow up just outside New York City, where she began attending the opera and symphony at the age of six. She’s been in radio off and on for most of her career; having worked with David Dubal at WNCN in New York; as the resident “opera chick” at WWNO in New Orleans, (a win-win situation: they were thrilled that someone was willing to take the opera shifts and she was thrilled that she was being paid to listen to opera); and most recently at KERA 90.1 here in Dallas.

While radio has always been her first love, Adriana is also an award-winning actress, listing recent star turns in Hamlet and Wit among her accomplishments. She’s performed in New York, Dallas and New  Orleans in film, television, opera, musical comedy and in plays ranging from Neil Simon to Molière.

Adriana has one husband, two cats, two rabbits, and some well-honed hurricane survival skills. They’ve all decided to stay in Dallas – “which actually makes me much happier than I could have imagined.” She’s delighted to be here in Dallas and at WRR.
