Orchestra of New Spain presents El Dia de la Lengua: Literature and music of Latin America

April 23

6 pm

Explore Spanish language and music in a fascinating pairing with readings from the Cuban author Alejo Carpentier, considered the father of magic realism, with music of Latin American baroque, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and Vivaldi’s “Montezuma!”

Featuring Concierto Barroco, considered by Carlos Fuentes to be “a small jewel in a baroque crown…set on top of a verbal cathedral.”
