Mount Vernon Music invites the public to “Lessons with the Masters” on Monday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Irons Recital Hall at the University of Arlington. A celebration of those whose creative genius applied also to teaching, the program showcases music by composer-teachers from the Romantic Era to the present day, including a world premiere by Texas Christian University professor of composition Till MacIvor Meyn, who will narrate his new musical story Midnight Adventures, written for Mount Vernon Music. Also on the program will be pieces by Paul Dukas (who wrote The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), Paul Hindemith, Ted Hansen, and Ernö Dohnanyi.
Performing will be Daryl Coad and Mary Druhan, clarinet; Robyn Alba, horn; Evan Mitchell, piano; Mark Miller, violin; Ute Miller, viola; Zachary Mansell, cello.
