Marbriago Trio performs the Classical Music of Sports

Day of cultural and education programs around the theme of sports begins with a Special Olympics Opening Panel, including Director Texas Special Olympics TIM MARTIN and

featuring:  Dallas’ Marbriago Trio and the “Classical Music of Sports”, including Mozart’s “Kegelstatt Trio”, which, according to legend, was composed while playing skittles (precursor to bowling).  They will also perform some familiar sports movie themes, such as “Chariots of Fire” and “Rocky” along with film clip.  The Marbriago Trio is made up of three musicians from Dallas’ “Open Classical”: Director Mark Landson (viola), Brent Buemi (clarinet),  Thiago Nascimento (piano). They are known for their hyper-romantic interpretations of the trio repertoire.


Historic 1902 open-air octagonal Chautauqua Auditorium and in tents in the surrounding Getzendaner Park,
