Bate hosts Mid-day Music and the lunchtime Classic Cafe, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. She arrived in Dallas in the fall of 2005 from New Orleans, courtesy of Hurricane Katrina.

She’s been involved professionally and personally with music for most of her life, and was fortunate enough to grow up just outside New York City, where she began attending the opera and symphony at the age of six. Bate has been in radio off and on for most of her career; having worked with David Dubal at WNCN in New York; as the resident “opera chick” at WWNO in New Orleans.

While radio has always been her first love, Bate also is an award-winning actress and has performed in New York, Dallas and New Orleans in film, television, opera, and musical comedy and in plays ranging from Neil Simon to Molière.
Awards and Recognition: Two New Orleans Big Easy Awards for Best Actress
Among Favorite Performances Attended:
•    2007 Fort Worth Opera Festival’s “Frau Margot”
•    Simon and Garfunkel in Forest Hills AND Central Park
•    The Beatles at Shea Stadium
Favorite City other than Dallas: New York or New Orleans, it depends on my state of mind
